LWML Mission Statement

The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

LWML Vision Statement

The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.

Bethany Women’s Guild

Bethany Women’s Guild has approximately 30 active members (which commit to monthly meetings when possible) and also about 30 associate members (who do not commit to monthly meetings) but are willing to support the Guild with their prayers and by helping with some duties when asked.

The active members are divided into three circles that meet once a month during September, November, January, February, April, and May.  The meetings are on the second Thursday of the month . . . one circle meets at 1:30 p.m. and two circles meet at 6:30 p.m., usually in members’ homes or at the church.  We have a Bible study, discuss upcoming meetings and duties, and enjoy fellowship and dessert.

The three circles come together for a general meeting in the months of October, December, March and June (usually on the second Sunday of the month) and enjoy lunch together followed by a program or Bible study and a short business meeting.

Bethany Women’s Guild strives to fulfill the above Mission and Vision Statements in the following ways:

Meet regularly to assemble quilts, which are donated to Lutheran World Relief and distributed to people in third world countries:

Raise funds to support local charities and seminary students and collect mites for local and international mission projects:

Prepare and clean up communion ware on the first and third Sundays of the month:

Play bingo with residents at Winslow House Nursing Home on the third Monday of each month:
